City of Ottawa

Julia wanted to know if we ever got the money back from the City of Ottawa to refund her for the course that she was supposed to take on CPR that was canceled.  We had got the cheque in the mail while we were in Florida. I had cashed the cheque because I thought it was a refund for taxes or something from our house in Barrhaven.  But it was Julia's money.  So I sent her an e-transfer.

Big Refund Cheque

I got a cheque in the mail for a refund of a dental claim.  It was for $2.70.  It was really not even worth the paper it was written on and it was definitely not worth the postage.

Early Bird

I was planning to go to watch my first fastball tournament of the season in Millgrove near Hamilton about an hour away.  I had emailed the organizer of the tournament a few days before to get the schedule. He hadn't replied but I assumed the tournament would start like most tournaments at 7 pm Friday night.  I was just about to leave the house and checked my email once more to see if the guy had sent me the schedule.  I saw an email from him but it said that because of all the rain this spring they decided to cancel the tournament.  I was so lucky that I checked my email before leaving the house or I would have driven all the way there, an hour drive, and found no one there.

New Lock

Barb couldn't find her lock for her sports locker.  So she went out and bought a new lock.  I told her that I remembered seeing her lock in a box.  I had remembered packing it in Florida and I had remembered unpacking it in New Hamburg.  I had dumped it in her box of cords under the television that I thought was her box to store random stuff.  She said that the box was only for cords and was mad that she had bought a new lock for no reason.  She was happy that we found the old lock though because she has had that same lock since high school and will never forget the combination.

Mop

We are back from Florida but we are not out of the heat.  Barb plays pickleball indoors in Canada at the KW Badminton Club which is a converted curling rink.  There is no ventilation in the building so it gets very hot in the summer.  The guy who runs the Club told Barb that she would need a mop to pick up the sweat that drops on the floor when she plays.  He was only joking, sort of.

CRA Messages

I represent Barb and Laura and Sarah to the CRA and get any emails about their taxes.  Today I got a message from CRA saying there was new information for Barb on their website.  At the same time, Barb got a scam email claiming to be from CRA.  I guess it is not unusual that the real message and the scam message would come on the same day.

Cant

The dentist was doing her examination and she told Barb that she had a large cant.  Barb replied even though she had all this gear in her mouth that she felt like she visiting her gynecologist.
