Barb bought two Fitbits because she found the one that Laura
had given us didn't have all the features she wanted. For example, she thought it was ripping her
off on her steps during pickleball and it lied about her sleep time. I didn't like the Fitbit she bought for me
because I thought it looked too feminine.
I also thought the one Laura gave me was working well for the steps on
my daily walk. Barb had a tough time
picking the band colour she wanted. Then
she found that she could buy a whole collections of different coloured plastic
bands. When she got the bands, she was
trying them out in the bedroom and dressing in her pickleball outfits and
seeing how they looked in the mirror.
Then she would walk from the bedroom in the back of the house to my
office to show me each one. I told her
she was getting lots of steps in by walking back and forth from the bedroom to
the office so many times. She had about
10 different coloured bands and had to try on each one, sometimes with more
than one outfit. She used 1400 calories
just trying them out.
For many years, I kept a family diary devoted to good news and funny stories about my family while the girls were growing up. I stopped a few years ago. I am thinking of starting it up again because I have noticed that a lot of good and funny things are happening to my wife and I.

Cold Coffee
Today I gave Barb a cold cup of coffee. We often make more coffee than we drink and
then leave it for later. Then we heat a cup up in the microwave. I poured a cup for Barb and then put it in
the microwave but forgot to turn on the microwave. Later I remembered I put the coffee in the
microwave and I took it out but never checked to see that it was hot. Like why would I need to check. It is always hot when I take it out of the
microwave.
Library
I renewed my library card today and I told Barb that she was
going to love her new library card and she has.
She likes to read ebooks and one of her pickleball friends told her
about this Canadian mystery writers she likes.
So Barb wanted to check her out.
I found a number of ebooks by the author but they started at book 4 in
the series. Barb's friend told her that
she really needed to read them from the beginning. So I ordered the paper copies of the first
three books in the series from the library and Barb is reading paper books for
a change. She had to go out and buy
sticky notes at the Dollar Store to use as bookmarks because when she reads at
bedtime she falls asleep and would lose her page without the sticky notes on
the page she is reading.
Confusion
Laura was making plans for Christmas. I thought Laura was arriving on the 22nd when
I told Barb to write it on the calendar.
Barb knew there was something wrong with that if she was arriving at
5:05 am. Then I realized that she was
leaving on the 22nd and arriving on the 23rd at 5:05 am.
Pillbox Again
Barb filled up her pillbox with vitamins tonight. She was carrying the pillbox back to the
counter from the breakfast nook on top of the bigger box that contains all her
bottles and the pillbox fell off and dropped on the hardwood floor. It opened and all the pills spilled out and
bounced all over. It took her a long
time to find them all again especially her little black peppers.
FRAWESS
Laura and I were listening to the Hard Drive on Live 88.5
one Saturday night, her in Vancouver and me in Florida, and were messaging
each other. Laura was commenting on DJ
Noah's transitions and wrote ITA FRAWLESS.
I wrote back Ita Frawess? She
replied that she meant to say it's flawless.
I guess spell check doesn't check capital letters.
Beans
Barb occasionally makes wieners and beans for dinner. Today, Barb opened two cans of beans and
emptied them into the pan. Then she
noticed that one can was kidney beans and the other can was pinto beans. There are so many different cans of beans in
the grocery stores here that it was an honest mistake. Barb likes a special kind of brown beans made
by one company. When she found the beans
made by that company, she just bought two cans.
