Barb's Computer

I have been very disappointed that I don't have a Linux computer any more.  So every so often, I turn on Barb's computer to see if it works.  I decided I should get her photos and data off her computer.  So I made a Linux boot USB drive and went into her BIOS to reset her boot order to look for the USB first when booting up.  I restarted the computer and was surprised when Barb's Windows system worked again.  So now Barb can have her computer back and I can have my Linux computer.

Making Fun of Laura

I am always making fun of Laura when she tells me she has dropped her phone in the toilet.  Today she would have had the last laugh when I dropped my phone in the toilet.

Fitbit

Barb is obsessed with her Fitbit.  Every morning, she checks how long she has slept and how much REM sleep and Deep sleep she got.  Last night, her Fitbit said she only got 4 hours sleep.  When she came home from pickleball in the afternoon and after she took a shower, she got into bed and had a good long nap.  She was furious at herself when she woke up and found out she hadn't put on her Fitbit after her shower.  So she hadn't captured the data on how much sleep she got in her nap and how much REM and Deep sleep she got.

Tumble

I hit the ball in slow-pitch today in the outfield gap and thought it was going to roll to the fence and I had a chance to get a homerun.  I was running around first base and one of the players on our bench yelled "touch all the bases".  I was running hard to second base and when I looked up the ball was coming in from the outfield.  I guess the ball didn't get past the outfielder and I was going to be thrown out at second base.  Also the player who batted ahead of me was standing on second base.  So I tried to stop running and go back to first base.  I couldn't stop my momentum and fell down and when I got up the second baseman had the ball and tagged me out.

New Mahjong

Barb was disappointed she had lost all of her games when her computer broke down.  So while she was away I installed a number of games that come with Linux on the computer she is now using.  I tried playing Mahjong on the Linux computer but I don't know how to play Mahjong.  It didn't quite look like the version of Mahjong Barb used to play. So I just used the hints feature.  I still lost.  When Barb came home from the tournament, I showed her the new Mahjong.  At first she didn't like it because the only choice you have is tiles with Chinese characters.  The first time she played it we played together and we won.  So Barb warmed up to it.  I think the Mahjong on the Linux computer is the true way to play Mahjong and her game on her old computer is some American adaptation.

Pop

I send the girls articles that I find in my email I think they might find useful.  Today I sent them an article about how to pop a pimple.  Sarah said Gross I'm Not Opening THAT!

Snorer

Barb stayed with three other ladies in the Holiday Inn during the out of town tournament and one of the ladies was a snorer even though she wore a CPAP.  Barb said she was as loud as a Mac Truck .  The next morning she woke up and told the other ladies she had a great sleep.  One of the ladies said she wanted to hug the snorer during the night and then grabbed herself around the neck as if she would have strangled the snorer.
