Phone Hook Up

We have an internet land line both in Florida and New Hamburg that comes in a box.  We have to bring it back and forth from Florida.  I thought we had all the cables in both places.  So I left one of the cables in Florida that we needed to hook it up when we got back to Canada.  When the cable guy came to the house to hook up our internet Barb still couldn't use the phone.  She almost decided to wake me up before going to pickleball in the morning but instead she left a note and I found an appropriate cable in my collection to hook up the phone when I woke up.

Back in New Hamburg

It is always interesting to get back home and unpack and find out what we forgot in Florida.  There is always something no matter how much stuff we have copied in both places.  This year Barb forgot her computer glasses and realized that she has two pairs in Florida and no pairs in New Hamburg.  Also it was still cold in New Hamburg and Barb forgot her flannel pajamas.

Hamburger

Barb went grocery shopping and saw that hamburger was on sale.  So she bought a package.  When she brought it home, I couldn't believe how much hamburger was in the package.  Barb thought she had purchased her usual 3 pounds of hamburger like she does in Florida but then she realized she had bought 3 kilograms of hamburger because we measure weight in metric units in Canada.  She asked me how many pounds were in a kilogram and I told her 2.2.  So she had purchased almost 7 pounds on hamburger.

Miona

The day after we arrived back in Canada, Barb's friend from Florida messaged Barb to ask Barb if she was playing at the Miona courts in The Villages tomorrow morning.  Barb had to tell her she was back in Canada now.

Bank Cards

We got home to New Hamburg and I went through the mail.  I found the Bank of America Debit Cards and Mastercards and the Travel Insurance cards.  They were addressed to our Florida address but they were redirected to our Canada address.  Every year before we leave Florida, I submit a form to the US Post Office in The Villages saying we will be away for 6 months and saying we will be back in November.  This year in November, Barb went to the County Post Office to tell them we were back in the US and the lady looked at her as if she didn't know what she was talking about.  So even though we thought they should know where to deliver our mail to our Florida address, they didn't.  We did receive some mail from Canada (Julia's cards, etc.) and packages from eBay.  So we had no idea, they were still redirecting our mail to Canada.

Three Against One

Barb won the bronze medal at the US Open and I asked how that felt.  She said that it felt like she was playing against three players.  There were the two on the other team and her partner who was no support.  Her partner played well enough but she was very negative and kept telling Barb what she was doing wrong.  Barb just wished her partner would shut up and let her play.

Nowhere is Safe

Tonight I was just getting to sleep and Barb attacked me.  She grabbed me on the sides hard and started shaking me.  I told her about it in the morning and she said she was having a dream in which her mother was poking her. So she grabbed her mother by the shoulders and started to shake her.  I told her that I am thinking of moving into the spare bedroom.
