Complaint

Barb went to the dentist and complained that the dentist had not said anything to Sarah when Sarah had her appointment even though they love Barb at that dentist's office and they knew that Sarah was Barb's daughter.  The dentist is Egyptian and when Ali visited her, her and Ali raved about how much they liked Barb in Arabic.

Birthday Party

Barb's friend Nancy phoned from Florida.  She started by saying that she thought Barb and I were really good friends and she would like to invite us to her partner Cindy's birthday party.  They were going out for dinner and she knows that Barb doesn't usually go out for dinner but she would really like us to be there.  Barb was laughing the whole time she was talking.  She thought Nancy was joking.  Finally, she said Nancy, do you know where we are?  We're in Canada.  Nancy had forgotten that we were Canadians and had to go back to Canada for the summer.  So since we couldn't go to Cindy's birthday party, we made a video message to wish her a happy birthday and sent that instead.  When we told Sarah that story, Sarah was jealous that we didn't make her a video message for her birthday.

Laundry

Barb was doing the laundry during the day and I asked her if we had peak hours here.  Barb then remembered that in New Hamburg she got a big discount for using electricity during the late evening or on the weekends.  In Florida, there is no discount like that.  So she does the laundry down there whenever she wants to.  She was very upset with herself for forgetting about the Canadian system.

Doctors

I had two doctor appointments on the same day.  I went to the first appointment and things went well but he told me to make another appointment to see him again in 6 months.  So I was on the way to my second appointment and about half way there and thought that I should have made the appointment for 6 months from now.  So I turned around and drove back to the doctor's office. When I got there, I went up to the receptionist and asked to make an appointment in 6 months.  She said they don't make appointments that far ahead and to call her about a month before I wanted the appointment.  So I left and went to my second doctor.

Start

Barb phoned our internet service provider, Start, about getting our phone hooked up.  She thought she was talking to our phone service, OOMA.  The man on the phone was very helpful and he listened to Barb's problem but he kept asking if she had phoned OOMA.  Barb just kept talking and explaining her problem and the man kept asking her if she had phoned OOMA.  Finally, Barb realized that she was not talking to our phone service provider OOMA.  So she finally hung up and phoned OOMA.  She was so amazed that the man from Start could be so patient with her.  She had wondered why he kept asking her the same question over and over.

Inside

Barb went to our family physician about her knee and told him that the doctor in Florida thought she had damaged her ACL.  Our doctor didn't believe her because he said the ACL injuries were usually on the inside of the knee and her problem was on the outside of her knee.  Barb wanted to get an MIR. So our doctor said he would call the Kitchener Hospital and they would get back to her.

Bad Dream

When Julia heard that our basement had flooded, she was very worried.  She had a bad dream that all of our family photos had been destroyed.  So she emailed and asked me if the photos were okay.  She even worried that we might have thrown them all out when we downsized.  I told her that all the photos were safe in plastic waterproof boxes.
