Late Night

When Laura was visiting, Barb worked on her finger and her hand where she had her recent operation.  Barb felt it was getting stronger.  So when Laura went back to Vancouver she wanted to show her physical therapist how strong it was and she tried to squeeze a hand grip and heard something pop.  Her wrist was very sore and began to bruise and swell.  So that night we were texting with her friend from Halifax and I was worried that she had done something serious and would need another operation.  I was up until 3 am when I should have been in bed and definitely her friend in Halifax should have been.  We didn't know whether she should go to the hospital but she decided she would wait until she saw her surgeon in a few days.  I guess she did pop a tendon that had been attached during the surgery but it was not serious I guess.  She was told to rest her hand completely and she was disappointed because it pushed back her plans of going back to work.

First Ball Game

It was supposed to be our first ballgame but it was cold and raining in the morning.  I got dressed in my warm clothes and was going to leave for the ballpark.  Barb said that the game was probably canceled and that I should phone the coach.  But I said I didn't get an email and if you don't hear anything, you should assume the game is on and go to the park. Barb was screaming at me to phone the coach.  So I phoned the coach and asked him if the game was still on and he said that he sent out an email an hour ago telling us all that the game was cancelled.  Barb was happy to tell me "I Told You So".  I told the coach that I didn't get the email.  He was furious because we had that problem with my email address earlier and thought it was still a problem.  So I got back into my regular clothes and when I checked my Android, I realized that it was on airplane mode all night and I didn't turn airplane mode off in the morning.  So when I turned off airplane mode, I found the email from the coach.  I replied to the coach telling him the story and apologizing for the mix up and that my email address was correct.

Sandwiches

We were waiting in line at the Costco food area and people were being told over and over again that the ovens were not working and they had no pizza.  So some people left disgusted and some people changed their order to hot dogs.  We were waiting for Turkey Provilone sandwiches and there were three that were on the shelf already cooked but we were at the back of the line. We had to wait for all the people ahead on us in line get frustrated and no one was ordering the Provilone but we couldn't move to the front of the line to ask for them.  Fortunately, no one wanted the Provilone sandwiches and we were able to get what we wanted all along.  The tables were disgusting and so Barb picked a table at the very end of the eating area.  We sat down and started eating and then I asked Barb where our cart was with all the things we purchased.  She realized that she had left it at the food counter and went to get it.  Fortunately, it was still there and she brought it down and put it beside our table.  We usually eat before we shop.  So Barb was not used to having a cart full of stuff to take care of when we are eating.

Costco

Barb and I drove Laura to the airport and after dropping her off, we went to Costco.  As we were entering Costco, the power went out and we walked in the entrance in the dark.  The power came back on quickly and we went shopping.  After shopping we went to get something to eat.  We were standing in line and listening to the people behind the counter explain hope the ovens blew a fuze and were no longer able to make the hot food.  Most people were there to buy slices of pizza and there was only one pizza left that was made before the power went out.  One lady at the front of the line wanted to buy a whole pizza but the guy behind the counter told her that they were not able to cook anymore whole pizzas.  The lady said that she would just buy the pieces of the last pizza.  She wanted to the pieces put in a box but the guy behind the counter said it was against the policy to put pieces in a box.  I think he didn't want her to buy all of the pieces and leave everyone else without any pieces.  She insisted that she wanted the pieces in a box.  So the guy behind the counter went behind the ovens to talk to the manager.  Then he and manager came out and told the lady that it was against their policy to put pieces in a box.  So she said that she would take them all individually on plates.

Vancouver

Laura had a long day when she came to Florida because she had to take two flights and had a wait between flights but she was lucky to have a direct flight home.

Movie Night

We wanted to take Laura to the three Market Squares tonight to see the live music for her last day in The Villages.  We were planning to go to all three for one hour each and try to get from one to the other during the bands' breaks.  Unfortunately, it rained and the music was cancelled. So we watched a couple of movies.  We watched the live action Beauty and the Beast with Hermione playing Beauty.  Then we watched It's a Wonderful Life our Christmas tradition.

Wet Cap

Trevor and Laura went to Disneyworld for New Year's Eve and when they were coming home it started to rain.  The next day Trevor was leaving and we were going to drive him to the shuttle bus.  When he got into the passenger side of the car in the backseat, he found his baseball cap that must have fallen out of the car the night before.  It was all wet and he shut the car door and took the cap into the house.  Meanwhile, I was sitting in the in the driver's seat talking to him.  After a while, he came out the house with Laura and I realized that I had been talking to myself.
