Snooze

I have a lot of back-to-back Zoom meetings. So, I set my alarm for 15 minutes before each meeting to remind me to try to get out of the meeting and prepare for the next one.  When the alarm goes off 15 minutes before my meeting, I hit the snooze button, and the alarm goes off for 10 minutes. So, it goes off again 5 minutes before the meeting, and I make sure I am off the current meeting and log on to the next meeting. This weekend, I was up until 6 am Saturday and got up early Sunday morning. So, on Monday, I was still exhausted. I had a meeting at 10:30 am and another at 1 pm. I was preparing for the 1 pm meeting by reading some papers, but I kept falling asleep in my chair. My alarm went off, saying I had 15 minutes before my 1 pm meeting, and I hit snooze. Then it went off again 5 minutes before the meeting, and I told myself I had 5 minutes before going to the meeting. But in those 5 minutes, I went back to sleep in my chair. After about 15 minutes, Barb came in and said don't you have a meeting. I said oh no, I fell asleep. I went online, and the fellow was waiting for me. He had sent me an email saying he was in the waiting room waiting for me. I said I fell asleep. I was so surprised that I fell asleep quickly, even when I knew I had a meeting in 5 minutes.

Potato Chips

Barb has quit playing Yahtzee again and now has time to sew. She decided to sew a unique toiletry bag with the pattern she had. She decided to make it out of bags of Dill Pickle Dorito Chips because they are her new favourite and pickle-flavoured. Now, she is getting all her friends to save their potato chip bags so she can make things out of them. I think that is so funny. She has so much fabric in her stash, but she is sewing stuff out of people's garbage. But I can't say anything because I collect old computers, television monitors, and other computer accessories people throw out, and I love them.

Good Cookies

Barb came home from the grocery store, and she said, "Look what I bought! Fig Newtons!" I said, "Oh, I love Fig Newtons!" Then she said I also bought Graham Crackers, and I said, "Oh, I love Graham Crackers!" Barb was surprised. She said, "How come I never knew this after 47 years?"

Bad Dad Joke

There is another commercial on my Alt-X Radio Station. It says, "If you were subjected to 'Hi Hungry, I'm Dad,' you might be entitled to financial compensation."

90s and 2000s

I found a great Radio Station on the app I downloaded called iHeart Radio. It was called Alt-X and plays only alternative songs from the 1990s and 2000s. It is great to listen to during my Saturday Night Party every week. It also has the best commercials. One I really liked was the comment, "I wanted to use the internet, but my Dad was on the phone."

Downward Dog

After my fall, Barb was very worried about what might happen if I fell during my evening walk. So, being the YouTube Queen, she started looking up videos on how to get off the floor if you are an old person. She watched about 20 videos and wanted me to try the way they all suggested. It involved getting to your hands and knees. Then, bring up one knee and then push yourself up using your hands on the knee that was up. I tried it a few times, and said it hurt my knee to go on my hands and knees. So, she kept looking at videos. After about 20 more videos, she finally found one that did not involve getting on your knees. You roll onto your stomach, do a plank, and then bring your feet up towards your hands so you are in the downward dog position from yoga. Then, you bend your knees and walk your feet towards your hands as far as you can. Then, you slowly walk your hands back until you can flatten your feet on the ground and are in a squat. From there, you can stand straight up. You have to take it slow. The first time I tried it, I didn't have my hands close enough to my feet when I stood up, lost my balance, and almost did a header into the bedside table. But I did it a few more times with Barb spotting me, and I became very good at it. And I didn't hurt my knees. So now Barb wants me to get on the ground in the bedroom every night before bed and practice getting up a few times. It is a great way to get up, but I can't imagine what someone watching me would think if I fell on my walk and got up that way.

Tuck and Roll

I was on the ground working, connecting my laptop to a large television monitor. When I tried to get off the floor, I lost my balance, flew out my office door, and landed in the living room. Barb was freaked out. She screamed, "What are you doing?" After she found out that I was okay, she remarked that I did a great tuck and roll.
