We couldn’t fit everything into the U-Haul truck when he had
moved down to New Hamburg. So we left
some stuff in the garage. We decided we
wanted the house to be completely empty.
So Barb found out it was cheapest to rent a cargo van from Budget in Kitchener and drive it to Ottawa, pack it up and drive it back.
We went to pick up the van and, as we were about to leave,
it started to rain really hard. We
waited until the rain slowed down but by then we got caught in rush hour
traffic in Toronto
which slowed us down.
The rain followed us all the way to Ottawa and the road was very hard to see with
the reflections from the headlights on the other side of the highway. It was particularly scary when we were
driving through the construction areas and there were concrete walls right
beside the highway.
