Speedtest

Barb found she couldn’t watch her shows on the internet.  So I phoned Distributel to find out what we should do.  After waiting on hold for a long time, I finally got a lady who told me to try a Speedtest using this website.  I found out that the speed was around 1 GBit and it was supposed to be 10 Gbits.  I read about the speed and they said that it sometimes depends on how many other people on the internet at the same time.

I checked the speed throughout the evening. At 7 pm, the speed was 7 Gbits and Barb was able to watch her shows.  Then at 8 pm, it was down to 5 Gbits.  Then at 9 pm, it was down to 3 Gbits.  Then at 10 pm, it was down to 1 Gbit.  Then at 11 pm, it was back up to 7 Gbits.  I phoned Distributel to tell them and was on hold all night.  Finally, they cut me off hold at 2 am.  I found out later their technical service people only worked until midnight.

For a few days, Barb watched her shows in the late afternoon and early evening when the speed was high enough.  Then one night, she found that the shows worked all evening.  I checked the speed and it was at 7 Gbits all evening.  They had fixed the problem at their end.
