While I was at a tournament out of town,
Barb went to the Mennonite Relief Sale at the community center in New
Hamburg. There was a big quilt auction
in the arena. On Friday night you could
go and look at the quilts but there were so many they were hung in rows too
close together to really appreciate them.
The auction was the next day and some of the quilts went for 3 or 4
thousand dollars. But it was a very hot
day and there was no air conditioning in the arena. So there was no relief from the heat at the
Relief Sale. Barb bought a Mennonite
strawberry pie. She was lucky to get a
ride home and didn’t have to walk all the way home on such a hot day with a pie in her hands.
