P Corners

I was listening to my Ottawa radio station on the internet and it has a lot of car commercials.  One of the car commercials was telling me how much freedom I would have if I bought a certain car.  I could take it wherever I wanted and named a few crazy named places.  One of the places was Punkydoodle Corners.  Punkydoodle Corners is near New Hamburg and I drive through it on the way to my ball games.  In fact, my jersey is sponsored by Punkydoodle Corners' Goat's Cheese.  How did a car dealership in Ottawa know about a little six house corner in the middle of nowhere?
