I went out to play in my first softball game and in my
second at bat I hit a line drive to the shortstop. It was right in his glove. So I stopped running. Then I noticed that he dropped the ball. So I started running again but I was off
balance. All the way to first base I was
saying to myself "I'm going to fall, I'm going to fall". I couldn't get my legs underneath me and I
was leaning too far forward. I made it
to first base and was out but then I took a header. I landed on my left shoulder and the left
side of my head. I tried to get up and
fell down again. I had bent my glasses
all out of place and scratched my face and bruised my shoulder and strained the
muscles in my neck but I continued playing and finished the game. Then I came home and took two Advils. Barb said I should have only taken one Advil
because they are double strength. I was
sore for weeks but fortunately we had the next week off because of Thanksgiving
and I could recuperate.
