When Barb was driving home from Mr Lube with the new
battery, she realized that the radio wasn't working and the clock wasn't
working. She found out that when you
change a battery you have to reset the radio using a special code. I guess they want to protect owners who might
get their radio stolen. She phoned the
Honda dealer in Waterloo
and talked to a lady who said she would have to bring the car into service
tomorrow because the service was closed for the evening. Barb was mad that the lady couldn't just help
her over the phone. We didn't know what
to do. I looked up on the internet how
to get the code for the radio. I found
out that you can get the code by filling out an online form and paying an fee
and they would look up the code for our particular car and email it back to
you. I didn't like that idea. Then I got the brainwave that we could phone
a Honda dealer in Vancouver
because they would be open since they are three hours behind. So Barb phoned and got lady who would help
us. Then Barb went out to the car and
gave the lady the car serial number and the lady looked up the code and walked
Barb through the process of entering the code in the car. And magically the radio and the clock worked
again. Barb wrote the code in the owners
manual in about 4 places so she would have it if she ever needed it again.
