We thought that it might be best to bring our second car
down from Canada instead of
buying a second car here in Florida. We were planning on buying an SUV and selling
that car anyway. So we thought it might
be good to have it here instead of selling it at a loss in Canada. We looked into shipping it down and we found
out that we needed to fill in forms from the Department of Transportation and
the Environmental Protection Agency to say that the car met the US
standards. We needed to find out if it
was already certified. So we got our
neighbour in New Hamburg to go into the garage and take a picture of the labels
on the inside of the door to see if it was already certified. The first picture was cut off on the
side. So we had to get him to go back
and take another picture. We needed to
get a letter from the manufacturer saying it met the standards. Barb phoned that they said that there was a
recall on the car for the airbag in the passenger side of the front seat but it
was no problem to send us a letter. So
we were getting ready to get it shipped down and then we called the shipping
people and they said that they couldn't get it shipped if there were any
recalls on it. So we might have to wait until next year to bring the car down.
